Kawasaki Ninja 250r, no more.

I have bad news and good news. The bad news is, as you can probably tell from the title, north american people will not be able to purchase new ninja 250's soon. The good news for those who wanted to but did not yet buy a 250 is that now this motorcycle is replaced by the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

Fuel consumption

Yes, I know I haven't been riding nearly enough, but there are reasons for that; in any case, yesterday was the first time I refilled the tank after winter storage. I also did some calculations, and oh my god, this Ninja has been such a gas guzzler since winter!

Back on track

The weather outside is great. It has been great since last Saturday, so that was the day I decided to assemble my motorcycle. Since I had done a proper winterization, all I really had to do was install the battery and do a visual check up on the tires, lights, indicators, chain and whatever else I could come up as worth visually checking out. The first start up was surprisingly easy...

Photography is something like a hobby to me. So, I thought you might like a couple of photos of my Ninja. These two were taken during a short trip one cold morning in October. Expect more photos in the future. I certainly hope you enjoy them.

First 1000km riding

So, I've had my motorcycle licence for three months and a half now. I've also covered 1000km and done the first service on the Ninja 250. I've ridden in various weather conditions, enjoyed some rides and hated others. Here are my impressions of the first 1000 kilometres riding.

Autumn has arrived.

With the end of the busy (at least for a working student) summer comes the moment when I can actually go out for some leisure riding and get back to posting here. Although autumn means that in a month or two I will have to winterize my motorcycle, this proves to be the time when I enjoy riding the most.

First ride in the rain

With the climate here, people always are faced with the rain at some point. Riders in Quebec should be prepared for such situations when it rains, but this was my first time having to deal with it. Here is what happened.

I mean, look at him throwing his gloves at the innocent Ninja and kicking dust against it! It is not the bike's fault that he forgot to put fuel in it on time, is it? And what is he doing with the gear lever? It's not broken; Ninjas are unbreakable :)

Well... except for the light in which they show the motorcycle, it is not a bad song. At least, it's good to see this bike in a music clip. Now all that's left is to make a video with the ninja being the hero. Ninja FTW!

P.S. Can anyone identify the cruiser?

Ninja 250R first impressions

I have received my first motorcycle and vehicle in general. So, here are my first impression after riding it for a while: IT IS AWESOME!

Isn't the Kawasaki Ninja 250r too slow?

Get a real bike. A 250 is too slow. And who said so? The crotch rocket suicidal rider? The ninja 250 is fast enough to beat most cars driving out there in the city. Check this acceleration YouTube clip showing you just how fast this bike can get you up to speed and forget about the 600cc motorcycles if you are a beginner.

The Kawi 250r: 2011 SE vs 2010 SE colours

 

In the last few years since 2009, Kawasaki has been releasing the Ninja 250r with different Special Edition paint jobs. This year, once again, they haven't changed anything in the already great bike, but have simply changed the looks. Here are my impressions on the 2011 and the 2010 models.

I don't know about you guys, but when I was doing my research of the Kawasaki Ninja 250 I would have loved to see a nice, clear video review of the bike saving me a lot of hours of reading. Unfortunately, it was just lately that I found this video in YouTube showing the bike and its positive and negative sides.

Are you thinking of a big displacement super-sport speed monster? Probably one of these motorbikes with lots of R's in the name like a CBR1000RR. If you are thinking of one of these, you are wrong.
